Sure Lock Doors
Safety and DDA compliance
Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) - Sure Lock Doors is a company committed to safety and compliance with DDA regulations. We are alway anxious to take account of the needs of everyone who may need to access a building. Considerations include wheelchair access, door widths, clear vision panels, door entry equipment position and height and door safety.
Finger Protection Hinge
We have designed our own hinge with a unique finger protection feature which prevents anybody from trapping their hands when the door is closed.
Finger Protected Latching Jamb
On outward opening doors, where we use magnetic locks, we have designed the door and frame to allow a space between the door and latching post - this is essential to avoid trapped fingers! More details here.
DDA Vision Panels
It is vital that an entrance used by large numbers of people has full vision panels to conform with DDA regulations. Vision at a lower level is essential for wheel chair users and children to avoid problems when opening a door.
DDA Door Clear Opening Width
Our standard door width provides a clear opening width greater than 900mm so easily complies with DDA requirements. Where we are to replace an existing narrow door we can advise on the best type of door and locking system to conform with DDA regulations.
